Hello again!
I'm slowly starting to acquire enough feedback to build this Gaming PC. I believe I have reached, or am close to reaching, the build that I am happy with, as well as the efficiency of the overall package being efficient. (Whoa, redundancy much?)
Here's the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/CozmoNaught/saved/2ZIh
So, here's my backstory:
I was born in a little town... I'll spare that stuff.
I want to run high end games (This newer stuff. I.E: Battlefield 4, Dark Souls 2 (when it comes out), Arma 3, Titanfall, etc etc) on High, if not better.
I am also a Computer Science major. Currently, I'm only a sophomore and am working with c++.
- Will programming as a major, and as a career, require an i7 processor for higher end computations and programs? That's one of my main inquiries. (BUT, I do have an i7 laptop which I'm using now. That should be able to run programs efficiently enough in the future, shouldn't it?)
But mainly, I'm looking at it for a gaming rig. (Non RTS's)
I chose the 16gb RAM due to this article stating it extends the life of an SSD (http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/ssd-ram-endurance,3475.html)
Other than that, I left some notes down at the bottom of the build to help reinforce learning, as well as leave open ended questions that I may hopefully answer soon enough.
Feel free to critique away! Thank you very much for your time.
