Hello All,

Previously I have windows XP in my computer and all went fine with WinXP. My system just gets completely shut down with all LED's, fans, monitor getting turned off.

Recently i have installed Win 7 and when i try to shut it down by SHUTDOWN icon, all are getting off (LED's, monitor) except CPU Fan, Video Card Fan. Also the bliniking LED light of Net connector pin doesnt get off. (but the computer is not getting into sleep mode.)

So to rectify the problem i have installed WinXP back and my computer behaves quiet normal (total system getting turned off).

So theres no problem in BIOS setting (i think) or power cords or Fans condition or in motherboard.

Now i am having Win7 back and the problem repeats (As mentioned in bold letters above).

I have searched in GOOGLE and found some answers as let the fans run to cool the processor and other things. So I waited more then 20 minutes but they are still running.

So to turn off the computer fully, i have to pullout the powercord or Press and hold the Main Power button of my CPU for 4 seconds.

Below are my computer's specs:

Motherboard: Mercury PI945GCM

Please help with solution guys.

Thanks in advance,

Srinivas

Solution
you need to disable hybrid sleep in windows 7 and use the "standby" style shutdown to get the old s3 type sleep. do a google search for s3 sleep in windows 7 and try out the suggestions.
