I'm not the right person to talk to with regards to 'price doesn't matter' - I tend to say that you'll get practically no measurable performance increase above DDR3-1866 and very little above 1600.
That said, if you want to throw money around, it's your choice. And given you're going for a 1TB SSD and ROG board, I'd say you do.
