Basically I have the cable and everything connected up. But I get a check signal cable error message + when I try turning on the xbox with the controller it doesn't sync up and go in to that quarter of the circle thing.

This Is what I'm using or something similiar.

I've tried syncing and everything but I can't get it to work :/ .

okay. so:
cable is pushed in fully to xbox and bolted in the monitor?
when you turn on the console what happens? 4 red leds on xbox, or green leds lighting up?
try to turn on the xbox without the monitor cable plugged in the back of the console, and see if its show 4 red leds.
Do you have an HDMI port on your xbox?

Yes everything is all connected up right. Green lights, It works when I put it in to a tv and everything works fine but when I put in to a monitor nothing happens. I mean when I turn on the xbox while plugged in to the monitor it doesn't display any rings just the green on button in the middle of it.

Yes I do have a HDMI port on my xbox but I don't have one on my monitor.

can you use it on the TV with the composite cables?
there is a probability that your cable is faulty

Just tried the cables used for the monitor on the TV. Doesn't seem to be working either...

I guess it's just faulty -_-

do you have a composite cable, with the Red Yellow White pins? try that one as well, if you can, just to make sure, that your cable is faulty not your box

then it is the cables fault, oh, and pay attention, for me it only has a VGA resolution, that is like really low. It can work, but not the best solution.
I am not sure tho if you can change the output resolution, I will check that
