Upgrading CPU + Motherboard, a few questions

So I want to upgrade to something like an AMD-FX8350, or an 8320, pretty soon. My current motherboard is not compatible so I will need to upgrade that as well. I was wondering if you all could suggest some AMD motherboards that are compatible with either of these CPUs. Price is definitely an issue so I am looking for the most bang for my buck. I want to be able to play BF4 decently without it crashing like it currently does. I realize my GPU isn't quite as good either but I know my current CPU is very dated and what I assume to be the root of my problems with current games. If you have any other suggestions to get my system up to par that would be great too. I appreciate any help with this!

Current Motherboard / CPU:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 ~3.0 GB/s
GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770

Other Specs:
Radeon HD 6950 1GB
4GB DDR2
Corsair 650W Power Supply

asus m5a97 r2..
Fair overclocking ability, good vrm quality, and no issue with fx class amd processor..

and yeah..your processor is not enough for modern games and this one hold your gpu power..
6950 still a good graphic card..on par with 7790.

Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
a beast motherboard with 8+2 power phrase which making overclckoing safer than on the m5a97 which has 4+2 i think. the m5a97 is good for the price, I thought of buying it for overclocking my fx 6300 but like i said the Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3 is just a beast.

if you want suggest a board for overclocking, then why you not suggest Crosshair V? :D

well, i'm not a fan of gigabyte 3 series..
read this "personal" review..

originally this post about 970ud3, but read in post #8..it's about 990 ud3.

If you want to go with gigabyte, don't go with their lowest series..
ud5/ud is far more better (and pricey too)..but you really get what you pay..
