Asus VN247H-P monitor speakers don't play

They're analogue right? (3.5mm headphone-jack style connector, not USB). If they're USB they'll appear in device manager, but if they're like a regular headphone plug your system has no idea what the speakers are. That said... right click your speaker in your control panel and select 'playback devices', you're just looking for your sound card for playback.

I found a speaker in device manager that says "This device can't start. Code 10" What is that about and how do I fix it?
