I have a driver issue with the 78lmt-USB3 motherboard. I just got it yesterday and everything is working fine. Everytime I connect my portable usb 3.0 hard drive in, it won't show anything but the hard drive light up so there is no problem with the port I think. I go to device manager and I see that other device has an exclamation on a usb controller but I can't update it. It says windows could not find a driver. Everything is working well, I just need to be able to connect my hard drive on the usb 3.0 port so that it could be a lot faster to transfer files.

Solution
When you download the USB driver file it is a .exe file.
Double-clicking the file will extract the drivers.

In Device Manager go to the device that has the exclamation point, right-click on it and select install drivers.

From there you should be able to manually select the location where the drivers are located.
Select the folder Etron\program files\Etron Technology\USB 3.0 Host Controller\Drivers\x64.

See if that works.

I installed the USB 3.0 driver 3 times already and it's not working at all. Should I install all the drivers because I also installed the chipset driver.

I just wanted to say thanks for this, it helped me out a lot. I was getting disc read errors on the driver disc that came with the board so I just downloaded the drivers from gigabyte directly. Nothing worked for the last two months and I had all but given up on using USB 3.0. After reading this I tried a few more DVD drives until I found one that could (barely) read the disc. Just like you said, *only* the factory driver disc works.

I can't thank you enough nickelous. I lost my disk and was close to throwing the motherboard in the bin but your suggestion of selecting a different version (rev 5.0) worked a treat. You rule dude!!!!!!
