hey this is my first gaming pc so i just wanted to get other people's opinion on it. Let me know if there are any incompatibilities and if you think any part of it is overdone (or under done) and what you think is a better choice. Do you think this would handle games like Crysis 3 on max settings?

processor: i7 4770k
graphics card: GTX 770 (should i go for 2gb or 4gb)
motherboard: MSI Z87 G45
cpu cooler: H100i
memory: corsair vengeance 2x4gb (should i go with 2x8gb if i find good deal?)
storage: 1tb WD Caviar Black HDD
32gb SSD (have any suggestions for good ssd around this size?)
power supply: ModXStream Pro 700W

im not going to be doing tasks more demanding than gaming, so with that in mind would you say it will do? thanks

if you're planning on having more than 1 mnonitor, you should consider the 4GB version of the GPU;
get 8GB od RAM, but if you feel the need to upgrade, then, later, get the second 8GB. however, if you find a good deal now, get the 16 ;]

dump the 770 get 670 way better downgrade to i5,use money for 128 gb ssd and for $57 4 x2gb g skill ram on newegg,
i7 is not needed, only needed for video editing and extra heavy work,16 gb is also a waste of money

ive been considering dropping down to an i5 as the i7 does seem to be unecessary. But do you think the downgrade from the 770 to the 670 wont effect my gaming experience. do you think the 670 will still allow me to play modern games on near max settings?

I run a SLI GTX 670 on my i5 3570K and can say for sure that it does great in all games. The only thing I would really change would be going with a i5 instead of the i7. It really is not needed for a gaming rig and some games do not like HT anyway so if you have to turn it off to play games you are basically turning it into a i5 anyway.

As far as going with a GTX 670 instead of a GTX 770 it depends on what the price difference is. If you can get the GTX 670 at a great price then I feel it is still a very good GPU and for a single monitor it will work great and you could always SLI at a later time if needed.

As for your SSD I would get a 128gig or better. Going with a 32gb is not even worth it and does not even leave much room for the OS alone.

As for the memory I would go for 8gig 2x4gig that is enough for a gaming rig no problems.

ok so i probably go with an i5 and, depending on the price difference, probably stick with 770. I plan to use the ssd primarily for the os. i'd be ok with getting a larger ssd windows 8 needs it. think 128gb is smallest i can probably get away with?

so true!... you know what, to save a little bit, you should go with the 670! It's not that much of a difference and you still have a really awesome graphics card! =D
