Hi

i am having a problem with my GPU (a GTX 660) that is being detected but is not working.

I know it is detected because i can see it in the windows divice manager, and also on the BIOS.

I do have the latest driver installed.

But when i set the the BIOS to use the PCI Xpress as GPU my computer gets very laggy and nothing works proprerly.

When i change back to the onboard, everything works fine (aside from gaming, of course)

Some data about the machine:

MB ASROCK EXTREME 4 Z77 LGA 1155
CPU I7 2600K 3.4~3.8 GHZ
2X4GB 8GB TOTAL RAM
HD 1TB SEAGATE 7200 RPM 32MB CACHE
HDSSD 120 GB OCZ
SPU COOLER MASTER GX-650W
GPU Zotac Geforce Gtx 660 2gb Ddr5 Pci-expres

I am using Windows 7. I have just fomarted the PC and the GPU is brand new.

Any ideas??

Thank you

Have you disabled the onboard graphics in device manager?

Another possibility, you do have the monitor plugged in to the GPU and not the Motherboard, correct?

Yes, it is plugged on the GPU (by DVI-D)

Can you open up the nvidia control panel? Does it properly detect your GPU?

Is the power plug plugged into the GTX660 from the PSU properly?

I would say so.

I checked right now and its is plugged pretty tight.

My PSU have just 2 PCI cables (PI3 and PI4). The GPU uses only one. I have alredy treied to switch between them.

Thank you
