Hello! I'm am currently building a new system but I'm struggling to find a motherboard, I have narrowed it down to two, Asus M5A97 R2.0 or MSI 970A G46?

Specs:
AMD FX-6300
MSI 7850 2GB OC
8GB DDR3 1600MHz

I would be planning to overclock the CPU and GPU in the future. I have read that the MSI has no USB 3.0 headers, is this true?

Thanks.

If you plan to overclock the Asus motherboard is much better. The MSI board has 3 onboard USB 2.0 and no USB 3.0. The Asus has 2 onboard USB 3.0 and 6 USB 2.0.

Go with Asus.

Eh in the end its your choice.

I have the MSI 970A and its works great. I run a 8350 with a GTX 970, both OC, and have never had issues. I admit, not having the USB 3.0 header is annoying, but there are 2x USB 3.0 ports in the back IO interface.

But for my brother's build I am helping him with, we went with the ASUS because Fry's had a special where you get the ASUS 970A with a FX 6300 for like $120, which was a hell of a deal.

I do feel the ASUS will probably be a little better build, but like i said in the end its your choice.
