Hello tom's hardware users, I am an avid gamer and have been looking in to the prospect of building a gaming PC for a while now and with next-gen consoles not appealing to me I thought there could be no better time! However, as I have never built a computer before I don't know what's good and what isn't. My first question is if the parts from the list I have linked below will work together and if they will be able to handle mid to high end gaming at a reasonable level.

Also, does the motherboard and other components allow for upgrading in the future? Any answer's will be greatly appreciated and if parts are not compatible could you suggest potential replacements for around the same price range?

You chose to go with LGA 1155 socket, which means you won't be able to upgrade the CPU without getting a new motherboard. It isn't worth getting an aftermarket heatsink if you won't overclock which the CPU you chose can't. You also need a little more powerful supply from 450 W. The GTX 660 is good for mid-end gaming and you won't be able to play at max details on current games. It's still good for 1080p, though. Why did you choose a mico-ATX motherboard?

First off thank you for replying, I have taken what you said into account and have made some modifications, how does this look? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2chMG
Also the reason some of the components I picked ( such as the mother board) were simply picked because they were cheaper options. Also I don't mind if I can't run games on high settings as long as it displays at at least 720p (when applicable) and runs with a decent frame rate. Does the motherboard allow for a new CPU upgrade. And what CPU would you recommend for this build for around £150

I recommend you to choose the Intel i5 4570 with an H87 motherboard, like the Gigabyte H87-HD3.

For the other parts, you're fine.

Thanks very much! I have made the changes and it works out at the same price, well actually £3 less! :)
