Hey guys. After not being able to get my hands on the cheaply priced Club 3d 7950 in store I started browsing for a replacement card since they were sold out QQ. Anyways, I'm looking into getting a GIGABYTE Radeon R9 270X Overclocked version, with the Windforce cooling. Can anybody tell me if this card is worth it, if it will botte-kneck my system and if it is a decent future proof card to purchase. If not, please suggest a card that's a better bang for the buck for me for ~ $200 CDN.

Now, I don't particularly play really demanding games... but I'm looking forward to playing games such as Heroes of the Storm, Path of Exile, Marvel Heroes and games of that caliber without any hiccups whatsoever. My current system is as follows:

phenom II x4 955
560ti twin frozr
650 corsair psu
asus m4a79xtd evo mobo
6gb ripjaws
win 7 64b
24" Synpas lcd 1920x1080

Here is the card:

Thoughts ? Suggestions ? Thank you! Hopefully I'll get a reply of some kind.

with your mobo supporting crossfire it just gives you the option of going the crossfire path in the future i would get the 270x for now and when the time comes to needing more gpu power you can buy the second card then or if your not comfortable with going crossfire you can just buy a more powerful single card...

The R9-270x is basically an HD 7870 but more refined it would not be much of a bottleneck on your cpu if any and you can always overclock your cpu to compensate for any slight bottleneck it may have. My suggestion is go with it you will see much better performance with that card over your current gtx 560 in those games you mentioned and when more intense games are released in the coming years you can always crossfire it for more performance :)

Thanks for the replies guys, both answers make sense. And now that you mentioned the cross-fire Inertia, I am now left debating if to go for amd, because my mobo is xfire compatible. Perhaps a 7850/70. Although I have never sli'd nor cross-fired in the past, and not sure if I should, or if few years down the line I should just grab another single card. Plus, I have never researched the pros/cons of 2 cards vs one. Thoughts?

Shoot you know what, NEVERMIND lol... For some reason when comparing cards, I derped hard. Being the nublet I am, I thought for a second the 270 was a nvidia card. Everything I just asked is irrelevant, thanks again lol..

Last question sorry. In terms of brands for the 270x... would you go with the Gigabyte Windforce cooling or the Msi one I linked?
Btw, nice avatar. JCVD is legit.
