Newbie. Again (sigh)
New build and I've not built since P3 :p seeking some educated advice.
I've read a lot of threads and followed a lot of links.. only to be further confused.
So..
I'm looking for recommendations on Mobo and Ram.

Expect to be running Win 7 or 8, doing some 3D rendering (UniGraphics, 3DS, etc.),
some video editing and a little gaming. Gaming is low on priority.

Building around these components which I have already purchased.
CPU: http://ark.intel.com/products/75123/Intel-Core-i7-4770K-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_90-GHz ] Intel Core i7-4770K Processor
Video: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N560GTX-Ti-Hawk.html#/?div=Specification ] MSI N560GTX-Ti-Hawk GeForce
Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster P2770 LCD
Power Supply: http://www.evga.com/Products/Product.aspx?pn=120-G2-1300-XR ] Evga SuperNova 1300 Watt Came with a 10 year warranty :))

These are the ones I am considering:
Motherboard: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z87/#specifications ] ASUS Sabertooth Z87
Memory: Vengeance 16GB Dual/Quad Channel DDR3 (CMZ16GX3M4A1866C9B)

Any reason not to purchase. Better recommendations?

I prefer to have an ASUS board.
No preference on ram..

Thanks for any input ))

Why in the world do you have a 1300w PSU with a Core i7 and a 560 ti? Plus, your GPU has been seriously smacked out of the fast lane for both gaming and editing. I would consider upgrading your GPU to the far faster GTX 660. This card has more CUDA cores, runs faster than an old gen GTX 570 whilst using half the power. Trust me on this, your card is very close to irrelevant now. GTX 660s are cheap now, so when you can, upgrade to a 660 or 760 when possible.

Thanks dottorrent for the input.. as for the PSU.. I've always run 1000 W or better. with no real reasoning as to why . LOL
Always assumed bigger is better..
The GPU was purchased when they came out and never used.. wanted to save cash where I could..
I will look at a different GPU and perhaps a slightly smaller PSU.
but my main question is regarding the Mobo and Ram combination for the i7.

That's a very good combo. Always liked the Sabertooth boards from Asus.
