Hello, so I'm working on my very first computer build and I have everything together except for my mechanical hard drive and the graphics card which aren't arriving until Monday. I booted up into BIOS and to my elation everything is in working order but I'm idling between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius with a Noctua NH-D14 which seems a little high from what I've read. This was my first time applying thermal paste, I applied a thin layer with a piece of stiff cardboard and then attached the heat sink according to Noctua's instructions. Since this boot up was just a test all I had hooked up was the rear exhaust fan and the two Noctua fans and both doors were off the case. Can somebody tell me if I am in fact running warmer than I can be or if this is normal for the 4770k, which is known to run warm, or if I should try reapplying the thermal paste?

I have the same set up, my idle is 26-28 degrees Celsius, It depends on your ambient. As long as you followed the manual and applied the 4mm-5mm diameter of the supplied thermal paste you should have no problem.
