Well, I have a MSI Twin Frozr 7950 3GB.

I am looking to use 3 monitors via HDMI, my card has 1x DVI, 1x HDMI, and 2x mini display port.
I have been reading around, and saw that I will need an active mini display port to hdmi and a passive mini display port to hdmi adapter?

I'm not sure what I need, but before I buy these monitors I want to figure out what I'll need.
So, in my case I am thinking I'd need:

  • HDMI to HDMI
Passive Mini Display Port to HDMI
Active Mini Display Port to HDMI

Would the above set up work? Would it be possible for somebody to link me to the required adapters? I am USA, for anyone trying to link me.
Thank you, and sorry for so many questions, I don't want to spend all this money and it not work properly.

Solution
When you run 3 monitors you need 1 active adapter from the display port. You don't have the use the 2nd DP if you don't want. Try NewEgg for the adapter and is probably about $30. I would buy the cables and passive adapter from Monoprice.

It all depends on what available monitor's ports you have. So if your GPU has hdmi and mini dp ports just get the necessary conversation. All you need is a mini dp to hdmi and an hdmi cable. There isn't a difference between an expensive hdmi cable and a cheap one. There is little to no performance difference. This concept is related to the conversion cables that you need to buy. You just need cable that work. You should be able to find it in a local electronic store or amazon/ebay for a cheap deal. I got my cables at Home Depot for 10 bucks.

Alright, so would my above solution work?
It was:
HDMI to HDMI
Passive Mini Display Port to HDMI
Active Mini Display Port to HDMI

I don't want to use DVI. I want to use my 2 mini display ports and my HDMI port

Not sure why there was a double post, my bad.

HDMI, DVI, and VGA are all the same "legacy" type connections and you can only use two of them. HDMI doesn't give you any advantage except a cleaner connector and easier to run longer runs IMO.
