Please help!!:bounce:

Hello y'all!
I built a completely new pc and i'm having some problems. Often the computer works ok, but also a lot of times i boot up my pc, i get a bsod :( @ windows 8.1 startup. Also i've got the problem that when my pc is loading Windows (blue windows logo) it freezes sometimes. When my pc boots correctly everything works perfectly. I also have the problem that any now and then my pc will not shutdown. It'll boot itself again. (Power on lan is set to off). Can someone help me out? I'm out of options here. Specs:

i7 4770S
Asus ROG Hero
Corsair 860W modular PSU
16GB Corsair Dominator 1866mhz
Asus GTX780 3GB OC
Samsung 840 Pro Ssd (128gb)
Some WD Black 2TB harddrives (tried these unplugged allready)
1 2.5GB WD Green HDD

:(

Blue screen view can be useful identifying processes or drivers that may have been involved in a bsod and then pinpointing possible diagnoses of the problem.

What voltage is your memory and have you tried setting xmp memory profile in bios? If there was a critical problem with your memory it should have been discovered quite quickly in memtest - within the first test. But to be sure running 24hrs as mentioned is a good idea.

Funny thing is that there is no record of the blue screen. It drives me crazy!
Memory runs @ 1.5V like spec. But i find it strange that when de os does boot (60% of the time it boots correctly) everything is working ok. Never a bsod or something. At first i was thinking that it should be a problem concerning sata but hdd burn in on my wd's is also running fine

hmm. not sure where windows 8 dumps its error log/crash file, its probably disabled by default.

If you can find it, maybe be similar to windows 7, the setting is located Control Panel\System and Security\System > advanced system settings > startup and recovery.

If you can find similar, will have a checkbox saying something like 'write an event to system log' under category system failure.

It could be anything, from psu, gpu, drivers to memory. The usual culprit is memory since system puts its main resources there to operate.

If you can get a hold of a bsod log, it will help a lot. In my experience using it i found a bsod i was getting was of gpu nature. The odd things were during restart/shutdown where it would loop during a bootup or bsod while shutting down, but not all the time. The bluescreen viewer said it was the gpu drivers when it did bsod while shutdown or playing hours during a game. Anyhow, i wasn't exactly sure if the gpu was failing so used msi afterburner to experiment and forced voltages and also used its other feature to allow kernel saving mode. It did help, never got bsods after that for a while at least. Then while later, the screen would blank out, come back periodically etc then had an opengl crash in halflife2, wtf? thats not normal, even for opengl. The problem with the gpu was obviously getting worse, there was no doubting about it.

Had a spare lesser gpu and it solved the problem i was having for over a year. Not sure if msi afterburner accelerated the problem with it's constant power option but glad it did in the end.

Anyhow, i suspected it, and bsod viewer gave me the reason to believe it was the gpu causing it's driver crashes.

Testes the RAM for 2 days now but no errors. Ram is goood... Damn i think i must test an other psu or something. It seems to be ok but you never know.. Or graphicscard maybe or maybe the mainboard it self. Weird shit... Thank you for your replies all, might something come up, please let me know.
