Hi guys hopefully someone can be of good service. I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H motherboard. Now my usb razer deathadder works fine, usb external HDD also works fine. Any other usb device works without any issues. This motherboard only has USB 3.0 connectors (all my devices are USB 2.0).

Now the problem is I can't for some reason get any usb keyboard to work. The reason I'm trying to fix it is because I have a Razer Lycosa. I've plugged the Razer and 2 other generic keyboards into my fiances laptop and it works automatically (probably generic driver). I can see Razer Lycosa (!) in device manager, and the status is just saying "driver not installed".
I've downloaded the Razer Synapse software that supports Razer Lycosa, but it's not working. I've also found another driver and installed it - rebooted PC, but it still showed a ! next to the device.

Any suggestions? I've installed the Intel USB 3.0 drivers from Intel, but the installation didn't succeed (I highly suggest this is the culprit) - the error message was "The setup program failed to start one or more application processes". Setup will exit... Lastly the USB 3.0 exe I ran was downloaded from the Gigabyte website.

Thanks in advance - hope you guys can sort this one!

Will

Solution
Recently i do faced the same problem with my ASUS mother board.
The PS/2 was working fine but suddenly one day i was not able to login win7....

I checked all the things but no luck. i tried the same with USB and vola it worked.

i hope the problem is because of some fault occured with PS keyboard :)

I also checked withmy older ps one and it was working, so i conclude that my PS/2 board got damaged

USB specific? I'm not sure. I checked the USB bios settings and they're all on. The keyboard works fine during BIOS.
It's when it's launching Win7 when it switches off (it's got LED lights under the buttons).

You just said it: You tried installing the USB Intel drivers and it didn't work. Check Device manager as mentioned and look for "!" for bad drivers. Remove and install the proper drivers and make sure it is successful. USB 3 is backwards compatible so it shouldn't matter.

Yeah I know, but I installed the drivers and still no luck =/ and windows should default to the generic drivers for them (like it does on the laptop).
I'm in the process of formatting the PC now, so we'll see if it works then

Good news guys - formatted drive and reinstalled Windows 7 on it.
Everything working fine now. I even ran the Intel 3.0 installation again and it was successful.
Thanks for helping in any case
