im a total idiot when it comes to computers..this build was recommended to me by a friend that recently built his destop..so im a little confused. would i be looking towards a i7 then? in regards to the psu, i asked my friend if i could make it with a 500w. he told me a 850 would be the best bet so i went with that one.would a 500w be fine then? can you please explain the graphics card issue please?

a forum post is probably not the best place... short version is, the card is good but it can and will get hot. the reviews around the web are mixed on it because the reference cooler is also reportedly loud. if your friend got one ask him about his experience with it. if he's happy chances are you will see no reason to not like it either.

cpu: i5 4670K is fine
stick to the 850W psu. it's overpowered (you could get away with a 500-700W one too but safer with the 850W).

can you direct me to the place i should post it in? i just made the account and am new to this website so im not sure where to post. oh i understand..he suggested me to stick with amd becasue he said that its more closely used with console gaming like the ps3 and xbox or even the ps4 an xbox one. also he didnt mention any problems that you named so i was on board. i just saw that the i7 cpu is maybe 50 dollars more. would an i7 cpu conflict with the build? i cant afford that graphics card haha. could you give me another alternative? in wiling to spend about 300-400 $ on a graphics card alone.

i suggested the i5 4670K intead of i7 4770K because your initial list had the father of the i5 (prev gen correspondent)
