Specs:

Motherboard: MSI 760GM-P23 FX

Graphics Card: Nvidia Geforce gt 630 2gb ddr3

Processor: AMD FX 4100 quad core

Power supply: Thermaltake 450w

RAM: 8GB

Hard drive: 1tb

Issues:

I play league of legends with medium graphics and it produces 100-150 fps; however there is random lag spikes where it drops to 30-50 fps for about 5-10 seconds then returns to normal and repeats the process later (Also happens when no action is happening).

This also applies to flash games and also candy crush, where my fps just plummets.

The issue does not happen when it is using the integrated graphics card but I tried 2 other graphic cards(One stated above and the Nvidia Geforce 8600gts).

Edit: For what ever that is not seen, I tried 2 different graphic cards and 2 different hard drives and the issue is still there.

Hi
GPU bottleneck you can catch one with different ways - GPU load , GPU Mem Load % , GPU temperature , GPU core clock
- get this tool - GPUZ and run it
- there is a sensor Tab - it will display what you GPU can give for information ( may not see all i stated above)
- start any game and play for 30 min.
- press Alt + Tab to GPUZ
- examine graphs

CPU bottleneck
- you can use simple way TaskManager Performance tab

It may be a HDD problem issue that is affecting you FPS - there was TH post that we solve it ...

For the gpu bottleneck, what am I suppose to look out for or what counts as abnormal?

GPU load - 100% constant -> bad , random 50 - 100 % -> OK
GPU Mem Load - 100% constant -> bad , random 50 - 100 % -> OK
GPU Temp - more than 85-90 degree C -> BAD cooling or bad GPU , bellow 85 -> nice cooling SAFE
GPU Core Clock - this one have idle ( low % ) and under load (high % ) MHz count - under load it must not FALL to LOWER % - under gaming it must keep high 100%

Would there be a problem if the GPU Load varies from 10-40%, it never went passed 45% and does the graphical quality of the game would affect the load?

That means that you GPU is below 50% loaded .......
F.E. You have the Ferrary and you drive with 120 km/h and you can have 240 km/h .....

That`s verry weird ..... it looks like you have CPU bottleneck or HDD issues ....
Or maybe tou have viruses or some trojan spyware ......
This GT630 is not HIGH END it must be 100% loaded .......
Examin the CPU loads...

After increasing the graphic settings of the game and trying it again, I learned that it averages 80-100% but when the fps drops, it shows the gpu load around 40-60%. Is this normal?
