So i'm thinking of getting an aftermarket cooler for my EVGA GTX 660Ti, but don't know if i really need one. Whenever playing pretty demanding games like BF4 on Ultra (no AA) The highest my card has gotten was about 77c and on average it would sit at about 74.6c. Is getting an aftermarket cooler really necessary or are my temps fine?

Solution

For those temps, your card is okay.
That's pretty toasty, but it is within the safe range. Try using msi afterburner and setting a custom gpu fan curve. You might also try GENTLY blowing compressed air through the fan housing to get any dust bunnies out.

If the card is idle at that temp, then clean your card. It's probably clogged with dust. Use a dust blower to clean it out.
If it's a blower card, then check between the fan and heatsink, most dust gets clogged in that area.
Idle temp for GTX 660Ti should be around 40 to 43C. If it's 74.6c during game play, then it's in the acceptable range. No need for a 3rd party fan cooler. But if you feel the need to get one, then go for it.
