I've cleaned and taken the computer apart before and I decided that it was time to clean it today. I took the fan, heat sink and graphics card out as always cleaned off the thermal paste, put some more on then assembled everything back together. The tube of thermal paste was clogged and some got on my motherboard but I cleaned it off before I turned the computer on. I went to test my temperatures on Battle Field 3 and my fans would not stop speeding up, I almost had to unplug the computer it was getting so loud. I don't know the problem could be, if you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

~~~~~~~EDIT~~~~~~~~ I am running the computer without the side panel and I believe it is the heat sink fan that is speeding up.
I forgot to mention that the fans get very loud when just opening up Steam and that my computer has never behaved like this before. If it matters I have a GTX 550ti.
Sounds like maybe your heat sink and fan didn't get installed quite right. I would pull them off, clean them, and reapply thermal paste.
