Severe lag issues with Arkham Origins on an AMD card

I've just recently purchased Batman: Arkham Origins, and when I start it up, I run into tremendous lag and audio stuttering during the cutscenes, to the point that I can't get through them. And yet, I've managed to run the benchmark under the graphics options menu, and have maintained a solid 90 fps under moderate-to-high settings. I've also occasionally run into issues with some mild lag on Skyrim, but they haven't been anything game-breaking.

I'm running on an AMD Radeon HD 5970. I can't help but wonder if it's related to Crossfire settings. Has anybody run into similar issues, and if so, have you managed to find a solution?

I have amd too, and batman lags the same as you I have hd7970 so wait to a patch there is nothing you could do.or you can lower you settings. Also if you are running crossfire, try do disable and see if there is an improvement , use fraps to test things out
