Your first time building? All of them are compatible actually, if you are using it mainly for games you might want to cut down other parts and buy gtx 780 instead of 760 or 770:

CPU: 4770k
CPU COOLER: CM Hyper 212 Evo
MOBO: MSI Z87GD45 (instead of GD65) save -40$
RAM: Just Make it 8GB and 1600 it might save you 70-80$, you can just upgrade anytime to 16gb, but remember to buy the same ram you bought.
CASE: Its up to your preference
PSU: 750w is Over kill if you are only using single GPU, you can try to make it 650w save 20$.
OPTICAL DRIVE: your choice
GPU: GTX 780.. 770 is already 400$ and gtx 780 is 510$ so use what you save and upgrade it to gtx780

That's my suggestion if you have a limited budget.

But if you have the money, just upgrade you're GPU to 780 or even 780 ti, add atleast 120GB SSD for your OS, Games and Frequently used programs for faster boot and load times.

Thanks for the help. What are the most important parts not to save on?

the gpu is the most important when you are gaming, you can buy 4670k for your cpu and partner it with the fastest card availabe gtx 780 ti and you will still be good. 8gb ram is enough for the memory, for the PSU just make sure its at least bronze certified and go with known psu makers like seasonic and corsair.

for the mobo,it almost doest affect the performance of gaming if you are not overclocking. it will depend on the features you will need. MSI gd45 gaming is actually a great board and theres a ton of features for gamers. for me i wont go cheaper mobo than that for quality purpose.

I can't thank you enough for the guidance. I need to build 2 of these for my 11 and 12 year olds. As you were responding I was making some adjustments to the original build. Really trying to keep the cost in check without too much sacrifice on performance. Would you mind looking this over and let me know your thoughts and if I am getting close. Thanks again. I also don't know which fan to choose.

You might want to get the EVGA GTX 780 SC or SuperClocked version not the reference gtx 780.

Since I'm guessing that you won't let your kids tweaks the performance of overclocking, because you might get a problem if its not properly done. The SC versios is factory overclocked already and a bit better than normal GTX 780 and you can say that its much closer than GTX titan in terms of performance, and later when you get the Hang of it and the games requires some overclocking, then you can just tweak it for more performance boost. But I guess with this card, you wont have to in the next 3-4 years depending on the demand of games at that time. http://www.anandtech.com/show/7356/capsule-review-evga-....

Your build is all good man, good luck with your build. :)
