I have a gateway lx6200-01.
- Processor: AMD Phenom X4 (500 quad-core
- 8gb ddr2 ram
-windows 8
-I currently have a onboard graphics card ATI radeon hd 3200

I want to rebuild my comp. I have a budget of $100-$150. What processors are a part of my options? Any opinions is greatly wanted. Thank you in advance!!

here is some very inexpensive suggests except the PSU, which i added because the one you have is probably old and a "no name" from gateway and isn't likely to be reliable. the wattage is low but it will handle a graphics card being added and a gold efficiency rated for the price is hard to pass up.

looking at the motherboard of the computer:http://www.ascendtech.us/lx6200-01-rs780m03g1-8ekrs2hmwd-mboard_i_mb64gatlx620001.aspx

it's . . .pretty old. you would be better served with doubling your budget and upgrading the motherboard, cpu and RAM.

Yeah I was going to rebuild the computer lol. I just did not know what processor I should get. In addition, what kind of motherboard should I get? I was recommended with getting the h61 motherboard. I have a total budget of $670

the H61 is pretty low end you could be better off looking at a H67 or H77 or B75 chipset instead - those all have better conductivity; USB, graphic slots and sata ports iirc. what h61 boards that may have some of that are priced ~about the same.

by chipset you mean motherboard? or no? Sorry! lol Man I feel so dumb. I also have z77 in mind because I was thinking of using dual video cards or is it
a bad path to go into?

now you may alos want to look at getting another hard drive and maybe a DVD burner to refreshen everything up. you can use the vidio out from the motherboard since the i5 has an onboard graphics ( called an igpu).

so with the ~$300 left you can get a hard drive for ~$80 and dvd burner for $20. if the most/only gaming you do is like facebook games then the igpu is fine.

these are just suggestions folks might want to tweet things or you can make changes as you make decisions.

the case you have is for a microAT sized motherboard. using dual video card would mean a bigger case also for the larger sized motherboard.

if you like SC2 then a 650ti BOOST or R9 290X would be plenty!
