Linking two computers to make one

I've seen this same question a lot but everytime i see it they ask if they can link 2 completely different computers with different architectures. But my question is, is it possible to link 2 completely identical computers together to make 1 slightly better running computer. both computers have the same operating system and everything exactly identical. Is it possible and if it is where can i figure out how to do it or can you just explain how to do it.

It is possible but its really not worth it. As far as I know you can only do it through a network using RJ45 (Standard LAN Cable Adapter) adapter even with gigabit speed it will still be bottlenecked it might even slow down the system so its not worth it. I did look into it at one stage.
