my acer 5733z the screen went to a lot of crazy colors then went black. Does that mean the screen went out or the video card went out?

can be any of them. try plugging another monitor to it. if it works it's the screen if no it's the video card.

it can even be the internal signal cable between the gpu and screen. where you gaming when it went out? if yes, it's most likely the gpu

You'll have to check the warranty yourself.
Put a video card in it, and turn off the internal GPU in BIOS.
