Need advice: I tried two different video cards, an MSI HD5750 and an (old ATI) HD4250 and can only get 2246x1263 resolution from my new 27" X-Star, when checked on screenresolution.org website. Right-clicking on the screen, and clicking screen resolution says I'm getting 2560x1440, but I'm really not. (I would recommend anyone with a new Qnix, X-Star, etc. monitor to check their actual resolution on screenresolution.org website to verify your actual resolution.) Updated drivers don't get me to 2560x1440 resolution. Both cards have specs up to 2560x1600, what's the problem.
I can upgrade to a new graphics card (with low power consumption), but don't need hi-end card since I don't do any gaming (more into stock investing). Any advice appreciated.

I have a QNIX QX2710 and that website shows that I am running at 1440p as I should.
Does the screen look like it's running at 1440p (ie, does the image take up the whole screen and is everything sharp) cause it is possible that the website is wrong.

Also are you using a dual dvi cable? I know on the QNIX that I have that is the only possible input but it might be different on the X-star.

My screen is filled and right-click screen resolution indicates "2560x1440 (recommended)", BUT when I go to www.whatismyscreenresolution.com my resolution is 2219x1248. I'm using a HD-4350-MD512M graphics card (rated to 1600) now, but have a HD5450 on order to replace the HD6570 which didn't achieve the 2560x1440 resolution. I tried 3 different DVI-DL cables with same result, presently using cable that came with monitor. My computer is Asus Z87-Pro mobo with i7-4770K cpu, all new components. Very hard to figure out what problem is! I will post results when new XFX HD-5450 arrives later this week.

With google's help, I found the answer. The website www.whatismyscreenresolution.com reports the resolution of the browser window that is open.
If it is zoomed in, the resolution will read a lower number, if it is zoomed out, a higher resolution number. Therefore, I am getting 2560x1440 when I set my browser window to 100% zoom. We learn something new everyday.
