Hello everyone.

I am building my first gaming pc and since my budget is 1200 euros max I am having trouble deciding whether I should buy a UPS or spend the ~80 euros it is worth on my parts. My power supply is a Coolermaster v700 (700 watts, gold certified plus).

My question is: Is there any danger to my parts due to under/over-voltage, blackouts, brownouts etc, or is the power supply going to protect me from those? I don't really care about losing any data since such events are somewhat rare (but existant) where I live, my only worry is damage to my parts.
So, should I buy a UPS or not?

Thank you in advance.

If you're ok possible losing your work, then no, you don't need a ups. They're mainly to give you enough time to properly shut down your system, as well as surge protection, which a good PSU will take care of.

If you're really paranoid, just get an extra surge protector strip, but don't spend more $$ on a UPS if you don't care about data loss.

That's certainly good to hear since that UPS was an annoying part of the budget.

Yeah, I'm sure you'll be fine. I've thought about getting one just for protecting against loss, but I don't do all the much that I'm afraid of losing.

Cheers
