my hd 7770 wont send a signal to my monitor through my DVI connection, i know it works because it randomly works sometimes, its very odd, so instead i plug my hdmi cable from my tv into the onboard nvidia gpu, and that works every time, but i want my graphics card to be the primary card and for my monitor to actually pick up the signal!

Surely your graphics card has more than one output option?

Yes it does, but my LG monitor only has VGA and DVI ports, maybe the card is trying to send the signal out through the vga port as i only have the dvi cable connected, i have no idea, and in my BIOS i have set PCI-E to primary adapter and set onboard gpu to auto so that it disables if mobo detects external graphics card, and like I said the GPU is fine as i have played game on it and the fan boots up because sometimes the monitor will randomly get a signal

Maybe you have a problem with the card or drivers. Have you tried re-installing to latest drivers? Try connecting to the monitor using VGA?

Sounds like a hardware problem with the 7770. Maybe give it a new BIOS. If that still doesn't work, it's probably dying.

should my card appear in device manager even if i am using my pc through the onboard at the moment, because it doesnt appear, only the nvidia mobo graphics appear, and i see no reason for it to be dead, the fans spinning and it hasnt been tampered with looks as good as new, as i have said since day one my pc has struggled to send a signal to my monitor through the graphics card, sometimes it would, other times it doesnt, and it hasnt for a while now, updated BIOS too, didnt change anything. Thanks for the replies guys :)

I see you're using an Nvidia chipset board. It could be interfering with how the card operates. You might want to go into the board's BIOS to see if the discreet GPU is enabled. Normally the card should still be detected and appear in device manager although your using the onboard/integrated graphics.
