I know that this is way too much overkill but what kind of performance would i get with a single GTX 780 Ti and what performance with 4 GTX 760s in SLI? Thanks.

More about : gtx 760 sli gtx 780

The 4x760 would be the winner except in power consumption and trouble!

get the 780 ti, or even the simple 780. for 4way sli you need a socket 2011 mobo and an i7 39xx cpu. the extra cash for them outweighs the usage of the old card.

also you can get a second 780 and sli. to the 4 way there's nothing to add.

Which should i take if my budget is 2800 dollars (without peripherals)?

that kind of budget gets you the 2011socket anyway. go for 2 780ti's i think they fit in budget.

Check this out about 4x780ti's http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aj8P2vtP2uU

You have to keep in mind if you are running 4x 760's the power consumption, drivers things and heat. But of course your question depends on what monitor set up and resolution you will be using. Once you tell us then we may be able to say but I can advise if you are going for higher resolutions forget the 760's and go 780ti on sli at least and that's it.

The Palit 780Ti jetstream will destroy everything you throw at it, even at 2500x1600.

Can you imagine this only on SLI?:)
