The only parts I'm reusing on the new MB is the memory - Corsair dual channel - DDR 3 1333 (2 - 4G sticks, 8 Gigs total)
My GTX 670 video card.
My Power supply - an Antec TP3-650, and it says it has a 12V, 8 pin ATX connector, but I will check for sure.
I want a MB with dual PCI x16 ports. My GTX670 supports PCI E 3.0. I can see down the road possibly adding another 670, rather than spending $500 for another video card.
The chip is a 95W, which is what I'm replacing so my Thermaltake cooling system will work OK.
So I'm looking to get the most bang for the buck if I really need what I think I need:
990 FX chipset - do I need the 990?
2 x PCI I Express 2.0 x16 - Do I need 3.0?
I play mainly Battlefield 4.
I'm not all that big on overclocking.
ASUS seems to be popular as in "If it works right, great".. but customer service is rotten. I'm looking for a good deal without breaking the bank. Ideal would be chip and board for ~ $ 300.
Thanks in advance.
