So I've pretty much narrowed it down to getting a R9 280x instead of a GTX 770. Here's the thing; I'm going to have to get a new PSU anyways (mine is pretty junky), but I want to have room to go crossfire in the future. Which one should I get? My CPU is currently a Phenom II X4 945 (by the time I go crossfire that may change).

More about : deal psu power 280x crossfire

An XFX750W would be great and you can crossfire.

Yeah, I was thinking about a Rosewill AxlFone... but I thought they weren't high quality unless they were the capstone series.

Besides the fancy colors and being 80 plus gold as opposed to 80 plus bronze, what is the difference between the one you posted and this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... ?

This is cheap now. Good psu. And big enough for any SLI / CF set with two cards. Or maybe with 3 cards :D

Normal price is 170-200$ and this is best quality psu in market today.
800w is price over 150 so.. ^^

Thats a pretty nice deal but that is NOT the best quality psu in the market, seasonic,XFX,Corsair,EVGA are all higher quality. 1000W is waaaayyy overkill 850 is even overkill but good.

Id say it is best quality psu for best price market now. There is not better psu in market that do have better reliability. :)

If you find better than this buy it.
Because that must be something really good.

Remember this can be found 550,650 and 50w.
Made by super flower. (best quality)

Corsair AX1200i is more reliable and alot more.
but 1000w is way to much so:
EVGA 750G
Seasonic x750
Fractal design 1000w 80+ platinum
XFX 850w

When you say it's overkill, the only reason that would matter is if it was priced really high right?

There is no such thing as overkill psu.
It is not used in 50% load it just lasts longer.

It means 1000W is alot more power than you will need, you need maybe MAX 2 gpu oc'ing 750W
If the Fractal 1000w 80+ platinum is the same price as an 850w or less then get the 1000w.
More is always better but not if you dont need it and are paying alot more for it.

If you buy now big enough psu. You relly do not need to think are able to run next card or not. That is then worth to pay bit extra :)  And get a really good solid psu with long warranty.

Yea if good 1000w are on sale like EVGA seasonic corsair XFX then get one.
EVGA has a 10 year warranty while Corsair has 7.
Not sure about the others
