Hey guys, hope I have got the right forum category.

I've been having trouble with my PC which I cant quite seem to figure out which component is at fault.

It's been crashing out on games and Furmark shows only 52° degrees GPU and 42°CPU before black screening, no monitor signal and sound looping.

Memtest shows no faults or errors and I recently cleaned the PC , because of this error. I repasted CPU and GPU, cleaned colonies of dust, oiled the fans, cleaned the dust from PSUand tbh, the machine is running pretty frikin' sweet ;)  Only issue is this crash has not been eliminated.

CPU is E8400 Core 2 Duo, GPU is ATI 4870 512 and PSU is 450 Antec, along with case, 2 x 1 GB Kingston DDR3 2X1GB 2X2GB for a total of 6GB.

I run linux and windows and this behavior is happening on both OS. only at maximum stress tests (or any decent games!). Running windows 8.1 and Arch Linux.

Do I need to buy a new 4870 or whats the score here? I'm kind of left scratching my head for answers.

Thanks in advance.
