I purchased a HP-Pavilion P7-1451 with a DVI-D port, the pavilion did not come with a DVI cable. I also purchased HP 23" Widescreen LED Monitor (W2371D) that has a DVI port. Can you tell me if I need to buy a DVI/D dual or single link cable?

Thank you.

Any DVI cable will work. DVI-D simply means it is digital only and has no analog (VGA) pins. Just don't get a DVI-A or I cable (if you can even find one). The "I" stands for integrated and contains the extra 4 pins for analog signals.

If your monitor is 1080p, single link is all that is necessary. Dual link is for higher rez displays.
