Connecting PC w/ Ethernet!

Hi there! I am attempting to connect my PC to ethernet but it is not working and I don't know why. I have Windows 8 (KILL ME NOW), a Sabertooth z87 MOBO and I also have an ASUS wireless card which I used to use but don't anymore. I disabled it which disabled my WIFI as well, so I don't know what else to do. Any help would be appreciated!

What have you done and why is it not working?

Cat5 from the LAN port to the router should be it. As long as you have the ethernet driver installed.

Go to the ASUS website, http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/SABERTOOTH_Z87/#support
Select your specific OS, download the relevant driver.
For example - Windows 8 64bit, the file is "Intel(R) Gigabit Ethernet Driver V18.1.59.0 for Windows 7/8 32bit & 64bit.(WHQL)"
