Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this, I was able to install intel rapid start on windows 8, this was after installing a new ssd and migrating my os from a hdd. I however was running into some issues and decided to do a clean install of windows 8 on the ssd. Once I reinstalled it did all the updates and updated it to windows 8.1, when I try to install intel rapid start it says that I do not meet the system requirements when I previously had it working on the same exact set up.

My system is:
MSI Z87-G45 mobo
i5 4670k
250gb ssd (samsung 840 evo)
1 TB hdd

My bios is currently set to AHCI and I have Intel Rapid Storage installed.
I tried installing the intel rapid start drivers from MSI's site and intel, neither worked.

Thank you for the assistance.

Intel RST supports the following Intel® Chipsets.

Desktop chipsets:

Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® 7 Series Chipsets
Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® 6 Series Chipsets
Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® 5 Series Chipsets
Intel® Desktop Boards with Intel® 4 Series Chipsets
Intel® 3 Series Chipsets
Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family
Intel® 975X Express Chipset
Intel® 955X Express Chipset
Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family

Did you originally upgrade an existing win7 installation?

edit: Heres your motherbd download page. Rapid start is listed for 8.1 so the Intel rst support must be incorrect. <Sorry>

Actually, is the SSD empty? Now that I think about it, I beleive Rapid start needed the entire SSD unallocated first.

Thanks for the help guys, looking through the guides and reading on intels site it turns out the option was disabled in my bios. I guess somewhere along the fresh install of windows 8 it must of been disabled as it was enabled before. The guide for the intel website was not easy to use, I kept getting errors on the command prompt instructions, I ended up finding a guide by HP that was surprisingly better than intel's guide.

I just have an OEM version of windows 8 and my OS was installed on the SSD, I had to take a portion of SSD (it said it should be equal to my ram so I took 16GB) and create a hibernate partition from it. Intel RST seems to be working now.
