unstable ram problem? only using 2.22gb out of 8gb?

i have done everything in my bios to try and fix it im on a msi fm2-a74ma-e35 motherboard with an amd a10 5800k and g.skill ripjaws 4gbx2 ram and for some reason when i go into my computer properties it recognises 8gb ram but im only using 2.22gb and its unstable? someone please help me it will be much appreciated as this is my 1st ever build:L

i have 32bit but somereason my windows 7 isnt genuine so can that be apart of it? and i have the latest bios ill just try and get the drivers now :)

Doh, two problems. 32 bit only recognizes 4GB minus a big chuck, you need 64 bit to use 8GB. Second you need a legitimate Windows version not some pirated version that is not genuine -- or at least you should contact MS to correct the situation if you *think* that you have a genuine version. You can call MS service to arrange a 64bit key usually if you were using 32 bit if it is a legitimate installer disk and activation key.

okay thank you both very much for your help so i will never need new ram just a new verion of windows thats 64bit?
