Do I need a CPU Cooler for my system? First time builder. I'm primarily using it for Photoshop / Illustrator :)

My case says it has 5 fans, so I'm not so sure?
But my ASrock MoBo also says it has "smart overclocking CPU, which unlocks Cores on my CPU"

My build is below:

The cooler included for your CPU is enough for light overclocking and yes, unless you want a fried CPU, a cooler is necessary. Just don't expect too much of an overclock.

Yes, you need a cooler for your CPU, but retail CPUs come with a stock air cooler. There is no immediate need to purchase a third party cooler unless you intend to more than a very mild over-clock on your CPU.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the response :)

I don't think I'll be overclocking as I believe all 8 cores are available upon opening (correct me if I'm wrong)?

However, I'm worried if my MoBo will automatically overclock my CPU. To be honest, I'm a little against overclocking in general; as I feel it will always decrease the lifetime of an item.

EDIT: Upon research, I'm also reading that AMD CPU's run hotter than Intels. And that getting a CPU cooler will also make the computer more quiet?

And what's the point of having the 5 fans on the case that I got? Is that for general air-flow and not particularly the CPU?

Thanks :)

Don't worry about it. Your motherboard just makes it easier for you to over-clock. It's not going to do anything on it's own (it's not Skynet).

I own 2 FX8350 builds , and you will want a different cooler , even if you don't overclock.

How hot do they got on stock air? I heard they get up to the 70C's...
