Im trying to put together a speaker set with receiver for my room. The budget has to be under 300. The room is pretty small and i listen to mainly rap/hiphop, with some other stuff mixed in, but i for sure need a good amount of bass. thanks guys :)

by receiver you do mean a stereo receiver (not a home theater receiver) correct?

floorstanders are a bit much for a small room but they would be plenty loud. normally bookshelf speakers are sufficient. since they have large drivers they also provide pretty decent bass.

we have a pair of ss-f5000's in the other room without a subwoofer. its a large room perhaps 25x20 but only two of them are still boomy.

just an idea of course. oh and those prices can be beat if you look around. i've seen ss-f7000's on ebay/amazon for that price (and they are better speakers)
