I just built my computer and will list the specs but I had a 32" sharp 60hz TV which i now upgraded to a 60" lg Plasma capable of 600hz.
I am noticing a lot of screen tearing and frame skipping. Also a bit of a lag in HD. I am using an $8 15" HDMI cord from ebay to connect my pc to my TV.
Why am i not able to change the Hz? Should i switch to DVI? I would need an adapter from DVI to HDMI since my tv only has HDMI, any suggestions or comments?

My pc:
PNY gtx650 ti Boost (2 in SLI)
Asus m5x99 Pro mobo
amd fx8320 OC to 4.0ghz
All liquid cooled.

I used Asus GPU tweak to overclock my refresh rate. I am currently at 77hz. Combined with lowering my other settings and a little more playing, it works great.

is this the settings you're talking about or windows settings? Windows Allows me to change to a higher Hz but the screen goes blank. Nvidia only allows me to go upto 60hz

It's not just with games. I put on this youtube video in HD (or regular) and it has a noticeable line across the screen toward the bottom

That is because plasma screens only have a refresh rare of 60Hz. You can not set it any higher. HDMI wouldn't even be capable of anywhere near 600Hz at 1080p anyway. The image is shown 600 times a second but it can only takes a 60 FPS signal. It just shows you the same frame 10 times. This is how plasma screens generate different levels of lighting and colors.

Single link DVI and HDMI are the same signal. It won't change anything. you need to see if the TV has a PC input mode or a way to turn off input processing. In general TVs don't make good monitors anyway and I would never use a plasma.

Besides that it looks like you have your anti-aliasing set entirely to high for those cards. Turn down your settings. Those aren't very strong cards and your old TV was probably 720p not 1080p, in which case your FPS would take a huge hit.

TV was on sale :) my old tv was junk but not 720p it was 1080i. So other than toning down the antialiasing, what would you recommend as far as gaming with a 60hz plasma?
