Hello,

I´m planning to buy a i7 4770k and maybe to do Sli with 2 Nvidia graphic cards (I would have to have that choice in the near future). I have been looking and looking for motherboards and I see the majority of them support 16x or 8x/8x. (I actually am not very sure if I know interpret exactly their PCI specifications... Maybe I´m a little noob...).

Example:
Asus z87 Plus (I´m thinking to buy this... maybe...)
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x2 mode)
2 x PCIe 2.0 x1
2 x PCI

Does "(x16 or dual x8)" mean that choices are 16x single or 8x/8x and none more?

Is there any motherboard lga1150 that support 16x/16x Sli or at least 16x/8x? (and not 8x/8x)

Thanks. Regards.

Oh, thanks for so fast reply. I actually saw the ASUS Z87-WS before asking, but I was not sure if it´s recommended for gaming and overclocking, is it? It seems that it´s more focused to edition, but well... I think its features are nice to gaming and overclocking... is it not?

So why are there so few mainboards with 16x/16x?, Is it so expensive to build it?? And why do NOT expensive "mainboards for overclocking and gaming" (like, for example, MAXIMUS VI EXTREME ,etc, etc), that costs hundreds and hundreds of dollars support 16x/16x ?? I don´t understand it.... It maybe that there is no difference in gaming performance between 16x/16x, 8x/8x or 16x/8x?. There must be a difference, even if minimal, is not it?

Thank you very much. Regards.
