Hi,

Can you use 2 GPUs in SLI with different brands? Both GTX 760s, one MSI and one EVGA.

Thanks!

More about : branded gpu sli

Yes you can SLI whatever brand you like. The only thing needed to be same is the CHIPSET. In your case 2 GTX760 from different brand should work fine...........

yes but might change clock speeds etc

Thanks for the fast reply! Wait what do u mean it might change clock speeds? They'll alternate clock speeds? My MSI is the GTX 760 OC edition and I got an EVGA GTX 760 Super clocked from my cousin.

The clock speed doesn't matter, stop confusing the person. It hasn't been that way since the 500 series.

OP: You will be fine with those 2 cards in sli.

it does matter cuz the will bot run at speed with lower clock card

No, they won't. They will both boost independently based on their own thermals and load. They would boost independently (and almost certainly to different speeds) even if they were the same brand. Please don't state something as fact just because you read it on a message board somewhere.

Just to clarify:
You can mix brands but not the base chip, so any GTX660 will SLI with any other GTX 660 but they will not SLI with a GTX 660Ti because the core chip is different.
To synchronise, the cards will run at the speed of the slowest so if you mix a stock card with an overclocked one they will both run at the stock speed. You can overclock the stock card independently to reduce this effect.
Each cards memory is treated separately and if you SLI a 1Gb card with a 2Gb they will both be treated as 1Gb cards, as with the clockspeed, this is to synchronise their performance.
