Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know the specific motherboard, cpu cooling system, ram, storage and psu brands/models the Asus TYTAN G30AB-AU003S uses?

Link: http://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/asus-rog-tytan-g30ab-core-i7-16gb-128gb-ssd-3tb-gtx760-desktop-g30ab-au003s/G30AB-AU003S

Recently I was looking into it, and can't find any info anywhere about the components above.

Also, can anyone recommend a build that performs equivalent or better than the Asus above for cheaper? Australian pricing please (using a GTX760 and an i5 4670k or i7 4770k, with an Asus mobo, western digital hdd and ocz ssd)?

I'm sorry if its a big ask, this is going to be my first gaming PC and I want to get it right.

Thanks in advance,
- DarkBlazer641

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.
I had a feeling it was... I haven't built a computer before, so I guess I thought it was safer buying a prebuilt system...

What about these builds?

http://www.computeralliance.com.au/alliance-gamers-octo-pro-desktop

Do you have any recommendations of builds?

Thanks

LOL, no worries.

Would like the machine to be able to run these games on high-max @1080p

- Battlefield 4
- Assassin's Creed IV 4 Black Flag
- Watch Dogs
- Tom Clancy's The Division
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Destiny
- Halo 5

Monitor is most likely going to be 1080p
Don't really want to go over that.
Would like to run 3 monitors, but that's just wishful thinking, 1 will do fine.

Thanks

I have not added a graphics card because I would say wait for the R9 290 aftermarket coolers and then get that. Its GREAT at tripple monitor with its 4GB of RAM and nice price.

WOW, Thanks!
That setup looks great, and the price; awesome!

I considered a similar build a while ago.

Few questions:
1. Ram: is corsair a better brand or not? I have no idea..
2. Storage: preference is for Western Digital, so might change the drive to a WD Black
3. Case: Recently came across the Bitfenix Shadow, would it be better?

GPU
What did you mean by aftermarket coolers? I've heard of the 290 and how its a great card.
I've sort of had a preference for NVIDIA cards, but that's just because of the name is guess. Haven't had much experience with either brand to judge properly..

Thanks again

1. G.skill is the innovator these days, they are pretty much the same except that G.skill has more competitive pricing.
2. YOu can change the HDD with pleasure. :) I prefer Seagate but nothing wrong with that.
3. The Bitfenix is VERY good so go for it.

The 290 runs HOT with its stock cooler. Once the AMD board partners, like Asus and Sapphire start adding better and prettier coolers, then the card will perform MUCH better, so wait a bit on those.

Thanks
I guess storage is a matter of preference...

What do you think of the OCZ Vector Series 128GB instead of the Samsung?

GPU, are these what you meant?
Asus: http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/52162-r9290-4gd5
Gigabyte: http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/52155-gv-r929d5-4gd-b
MSI: http://www.scorptec.com.au/computer/52161-r9-290-4gd5

The Vector is a good choice if its at a good price.

This is not the actual card, but the cooler as an example is considered a non-reference or aftermarket cooler by Asus.
Those you posted are REFERENCE or stock cooling.

Oh, ok.
Do you have any idea when the versions will come out?

Also, what about CPU cooling and case cooling?
Any recommendations?

The aftermarket versions are long overdue already. So it should not be long.

Cooling... Well do you plan on overclocking?

I guess the intel graphics will have to do until then...

Overclocking...Maybe....
Don't really know how to...but would like to try it out..so eventually yes
Not gonna do it as soon as i get the machine, but maybe after 2-3 months of use..

Well either spend 30$ or 60$, the 30$ would get you a mild OC to say about 4.2-4.4GHz.
The 70$ could potentially get you 4.8GHz.

K
Thanks

In regards to the Asus ROG TYTAN G30AB that I asked first in this post, is it truly overpriced?

I tried building the same specs on pcpartpicker and got stuck on the models for some componenets.
There really isnt that much info on e.g. the mobo model of that build.

What I sort of ended up on was around the same price...
Can't really say for sure without the info

I tried contacting Asus in regards to this, and no response as of now

If you were to build that same machine yourself.

This is what you would get :

For the record this would probably end up being BETTER than the Tytan.

Oh wow....
$700 cheaper...

right
definitely gonna ignore that machine then.

Also, with the build you recommended before, would swapping the case to a bitfenix shadow be compatible with the r9 290 GPU and the Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BK CPU cooler?

I really like the case (design-wise) but not sure if the components would actually work in the case.

I'm sorry for all the questions
Just want to be completely sure before I buy the parts.

Good choices and yes they will fit perfectly. :)

Awesome, Thanks!

Any last advice for a first time builder?
Definetely going to get an anti-static wrist strap (as my house is all carpeted) and some Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound. Anything I missed?

Were there any issues that you encountered with your first build?

LOL can not even remember that anymore.

Nah, just take it slow, do not rush and make sure you get the front panel headers correct.

LOL, thanks
Just the fact that I was confused with what you said about the headers means I might struggle..but i guess the experience is worth it.

Thanks for the offer
