best laptop for programmers ?

Hi ! I want to buy a laptop for my boyfriend. He is a programmer and uses C++, java, QT, linux, ubuntu and other programms like that (but mostly C++).
I'm really not an expert in computers so i was wondering what is the best processor and memory i could chose ? My budget is 500$ for the laptop.
I found this one is it good ?

What a developer will really needs is the 'IDE' (integrated development environment).
If he works with a Microsoft shop the thing to get is Visual Studio (http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msca/en_CA/list/Visual-Studio/categoryID.64522300) Shop around, don't buy it from the MS store.
After that, if he doesn't already have one, he will likely need a MS Technet license/subscription (http://technet.microsoft.com/subscriptions).

If he isn't a MS developer, you will need to ask him what he uses and research that.

Hardware will be the last thing you need to get.
