My PC specs:
Intel Core i3 @ 3.1GHz
Intel DH55PJ mobo
4GB KINGSTON RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 650
Coolermaster 650W EXTREME 2 PSU. (has 2 PCI-E power connectors)

I recently started playing the next-gen games and they lag horribly below 30fps on High settings, with FXAA.(Assassin's Creed 4)

What should i upgrade out of my components to get a better framrate of 40-50fps on high settings, with anti-alasing? CPU or GPU?
Please give details of your suggestion...

You should upgrade your CPU to an i5 and if it still lags get some more RAM if it still lags then you gotta get a new GPU. Maybe a 660 or 660ti, as I mentioned before. If it STILL lags then stop playing on a toaster. :p Hope this helps!

I would say your cpu is holding you back only being a dual core Assassins creed 4 and alot of new games are designed to run with quad core cpus your gpu should be fine to play most games on high settings.

If you're planning to play at 1080p with a single monitor a better CPU would be nice and another stick of 4Gb RAM. Your GPU seems to be alright but maybe in the future you could buy a GTX 660 or 660 ti. Hope this helps :D
