the pc im looking to buy has the 5450 2gb and the minimum requirement for the game im looking to play is the 4770, im just curious if the one im looking to buy is better or worse, and by how much?

also is AMD Trinity 3.2Ghz / 3.6Ghz Turbo Core better than a Intel® Core™2 Duo?

\thanks

id go with 4770 though it will probably require a 6pin pcie connector, and AMD trinity is better than C2D, trinity is from last year and C2D is from around 2008 so trinity will obviously be better.

the 4770 is the requirement for the game, the 5450 2gb one is the card in the system im thinking of buying. is the 4770 greatly better? if the 5450 cant handle it im going to have to look at another system.

4770 is around 270% better than 5450 according to this site. 4770 is about 3-4 tiers above HD 5450.though id get the 4770 1GB edition it will be largely bottleneck by the 512mb Vram.

also HD 5450 is really weak, iGPU solutions on trinity APU's are more powerful than that.

thats has alot more information. posted this one cause i figured the easy question might get more answers then the more indepth one.

thanks for everyones help. (i woulda thought the higher number was better, goes to show how bad i am at this.)

What is the cpus full model number, as Trinity chips come integrated 6000/7000 series GPU, which should more than enough more mid-range grahics for FF14.

unfortunatly the seller does not state the exact chip model number, merely the information of
Processor: AMD Trinity 3.2Ghz / 3.6Ghz Turbo Core

Processor Socket: Socket FM2

Processor Main Features: AMD 3.6GHzTurbo Core

Cache Memory: 4 MB L2 Cache

This is a bit tricky, a higher number IS better, but only the last 3 and model numbers can also change from generation to generation. For example, there is a 9800 video card from ATI which is pretty old but has a much higher number than the 4770 which is a lot faster. The first one is the model range (ex. 5000 series cards or 4000 series), the last 3 are the actual rankings of the cards.

The 5450 is a lower level model from the 5000 series while the 4770 is a higher level model from the 4000 series this is faster even though it's from an older generation. Generally, even older models that were made to be for gaming are faster than newer models made for general use.

Also, unless your budget totally does not allow it, do NOT just get the minimum card the game wants. You'll be able to play it but it will be slow and you'll have to lower detail and resolution. You want to look at the RECOMMENDED card.

Well since it is a 3.2/3.6ghz cpu would take a guess at A8-5600K and the interal GPU is a Radeon HD 7560D, I would take the 4770 as its just a shade slower than the modern 7750.
