Hey, guys. I built my first PC about a year and a half ago, on a pretty tight budget. However, I've recently been wondering if my CPU (AMD A8-5600K APU) could be bottlenecking my GPU's performance (HIS 7870 IceQ GHz).

So, long story short, do you guys think that this would cause a bottleneck? If so, what are your recommendations for a better suited CPU?

Thanks!
LTM

It's possible. The A8-5600k is an apu with powerful integrated graphics and is not a very good choice to use as a "gaming" cpu along with a powerful graphics card.

A FX 4300, 6300, 8320, or 8350 are much better choices, but would require a motherboard change as well.

Any Intel i5, i7, or even some i3s would probably be better as well.
