I uninstalled my network adapter drivers and installed another one, hoping I would get better internet performance. I didn't so I reverted back, while both sets of drivers for each network card were uninstalled, I reinserted the original network adapter and now have way faster internet? How is this possible?

Depends on what sort of network adapter really. If is a usb one, when you plugged it back in, windows will have automatically reinstalled the latest driver it had for it, and started it up.

When you uninstall the drivers, windows keeps a backup of them, and if the device is plugged back in it just reinstalls the latest ones it has. You can update or roll drivers back as you see fit via the driver properties.

Although it is odd that when plugged into my front USB 2.0 port on my case, my internet is way faster than when I use the rear USB 3.0 slots. It reverts back to it old self when not in the front port. Why is this?

It would not effect your actual internet speed, that's down to your router and connection.
It could effect your local area connection speed from your pc to your router. You can view details of this under you connection properties to see how signal strength and bit rate are being effected.
