Hello,

I am planning of building a new PC with a Sapphire R9 280x Vapor-X GPU. The issue I have is that this GPU requires two 8 pin connectors, whereas, the PSU that I currently have (FSP Epsilon 600W) has one 6 pin and one 2+6 pin connectors,

I understand that I can use a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter but I'm unsure if it will fry (ruin) my new components. Another option to use a molex to 8 pin adapter but I think it may be too risky. Please can you enlighten me? specifically about the 6 to 8 pin adapter if its OK to use.

I understand that a good PSU is a vital component, however, I wanted to be 100% sure that my current one will work alteast for say 6 - 12 months. Will definitely look into upgrading to a better PSU in the future.

Appreciate your help.

well just to answer this question, if the gpu came atleast with a single 2x 4pin molex adapter to 8pin pcie you can connect it to your molex pins and use your 6+2pin connector from your epsilon.

2x4pin molex>pcie 8pin adapter>gpu
Epsilon>6+2pinpcie>gpu

the only concern is if there would be enough amperes in the 12v railing from your epsilon to power this card, but since you bought a new psu,. game on!
