I have an hp pavilion with 300w psu my specs are
Amd athlon 64 x 2 2.5 ghz

I want to purchase a EVGA GeForce GT 630 1GB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 its said its required a 350w psu and I don't have enough money to upgrade the psu will this graphic card support the 300w psu?
My motherboard is pci express x16 just want to know if this card will work?

Well the card has a power draw of 65 watts as per EVGA. so you need to take the power of everything else into consideration.

Now your cpu is most likely a 65watt part as well since HP tends to use power friendly parts. They may have even used the EE edition that used even less power.

The real question left is how much of that power supplies power is placed on its 12 volt rail. It may be something like 12v1 + 12v2 = XXamps

Best bet to open the system and look at the power supply to see this info. Not all 300 watt power supplies are made the same. I have one that has 22 amps @ 12 volts(264 watts) and seen others with 24(288 watts) while at the other end of the spectrum I have seen them with 14(168 watts).

Now with multi rail power supplies they should list a combined rating for power.

As long as the power supply is of decent quality, a card like the 630 should work, but do not expect too much from it as those are not what I would call a high end gaming card. It is more of a low end gaming/decent media pc card than anything else. Something like a 7750 would actually be faster and not take more power(most likely less power).
